Take a look inside an Alys Beach home
Over the years, Drs. Tara and Jim Bryant have vacationed in almost all of the communities located along Florida’s famous 30A highway.
When their five children were young, they’d hit the beaches of Panama City. They have also stayed at homes in Grayton and Rosemary beaches. It was on one of those many beach trips the couple discovered Alys Beach and decided maybe it was time to plant roots in this seaside community.
“We’ve been going down to the coast since the kids were little,” Tara says. “We sort of stayed all around. We’re cyclists, so we’d cycle down 30A and explore the different areas. That’s how we found Alys Beach, and we just really liked it.”
The couple wanted a beach home that would accommodate them and their five grown children, keeping the future–namely grandchildren–in mind.
In 2008, they purchased a lot on Alys Beach in a planned community. The development never took off, though, so the couple began exploring other options.
Tara says they wanted the decor throughout the home to be neutral and light, just like the aesthetics of the neighborhood. Much of the furniture comes from Homewood’s Stock and Trade.
